The newest Wilson Roger Federer racquet on the market and tour. The Wilson Six One Tour BLX implements basalt fibers in the frame of the racket. The idea is to increase the strength of the frame as well as reduce the vibrations felt by the player when striking the ball. The addition of the BLX technology is what sets this line apart from the K Six One Tour. Though I’m not convinced that BLX is much more than a nice new gimmick, the racquet is another high quality addition to Wilson’s line. Federer lends credibility to the line by being one of the most famous players in tennis of all time.
I’ve always played with Wilson racquets and found them to be consistently high quality and able to provide good power and control. Wilson makes racquets for all types and levels of players, though the racquet used by Federer is certainly recommended for more advanced players at least around the 4.5 level on an NTRP rating scale.
